Side Quests

Oh My Blog, It's been a while!
Happy 2024! Wow, It feels pretty wild that it's already 2024. It also feels wild to be writing such a conversational blog post. But I have some things to chat about!
I recently uploaded a doll and project planning for 2024 video on my main Youtube channel, which goes over all my major upcoming doll releases! This would be for cast and 3D printed Ball Jointed Doll things, mainly!
If you haven't seen the video, you can check it out here.
Okay, but what I didn't really touch on was something else I mentioned in my end of year doll tag video (here). Side Quests.
Here's the thing with me. I am happiest, and most peaceful when I am making things. Its a major reason why I love doing the Christmas Craft exchange every year. I love to make random things!
Some of this can become side quests in the "mystery bag" way! This would include BJD eyes, outfits, props etc. Let's call this Side Quest 1.
But something else I love to make is little fullset dolls. and art dolls. and cutsie homegoods. jewely. charms. Most of it original characters, sometimes fan art. But I never really know where to put these things!
So enter sidequest 2.
I currently have a "shop art" section on my website for apparel and house goods I designed and have professionally printed. But I think I will rename this section to something more appropriate, like "Shop Style" or "Shop Design" because I am going to instead make the shop art section all about the other weird little things I make!
I will probably add "shop art" items in limited drops, when I have enough stock to do so. I'm also going to look into how to best share process and behind the scenes on these items on my second channel and tiktok I think.
Finally, my third sidequest is that as of late last year, I take sculpting, faceup and drawing comissions. This has been a lot of fun, and a great outlet to create things I otherwise wouldn't! If you're interested in a commission, please reach out with this form. I don't bite, and my prices are very reasonable.
I am of course, still first and formost making BJDs, but I just wanted to share this with you all, and would love to hear what you think!
