the shoes attach to a magnetic ankle piece, which you use instead of your doll's usual foot! You just need to add magnets to hold them in place! These shoes come with the ankle file as well, which I recommend printing in white to look like a sock, or in a color to match your doll!
Shoes are printed in white, ankles will be as well. Pieces are NOT SANDED AND NOT PAINTED.
